assignment#25 popular culture (dexter)

There is currently a television show that is a bit popular. It is one of my favorite shows and it is very interesting. It is currently on tv but I watch it at my sisters house because her husband bought the seasons. The show is called Dexter.
This series is about a man named Dexter Jackson. By day he is a criminal investigator and by night he is a serial killer. He isn't evil though. He murders murderers. When he receives a case of a homicide and things of that matter he does his job and finds who the murder is, instead of letting his boss know and putting the criminal in jail he takes matters into his own hands. He investigates on what the criminal does and when he can catch him. Once he does he sleeps them with a drug, undresses them and tapes them completely to a table (he covers them with the tape so no inappropriate body parts are seen). When the murder wakes up Dexter speaks to them and makes them feel bad for what they have done. Once the murder shows a bit sign of sympathy (which rarely occurs) he cuts their neck and lets them bleed out. He then chops them into parts and throws the body away. For some reason before he kills them he always makes a small cut on there right cheek.
Dexter has a wife and three kids. The two oldest kids are of his wife and her previous marriage and the baby boy is his and his wife's. He is a crime seen investigator and works along side with his sister. No one knows of his second life as a killer. The reason he kills the murders is because he believes it gives better justice. When he was a baby he witnessed his mother get killed brutally. That traumatizing part of his life has caused him to do what he does. Sometimes his father comes to his thoughts and they have conversations. When he pictures his father he seems to remember things more. His father is dead. Im not sure yet how his father died. So far I have gotten to a part where something tragic has happened and it will live him feeling guilty for a ling time. You can see more of Dexter on their website

assignment 13-my favorite

There is varies types of music that I enjoy listening to but there is one band that I just love. The Dirty Heads. This band is a reggae band, they have such nice songs and they are great singers. The singers are Duddy B and Dirty Jay, the rest of the band is  Jon , Matt, and David. They are the ones on the instruments.
I heard them through my cousin eddie. I started listening to sublime and when I told him he told me that I would love the dirty heads. He was right. To me their music is awesome. Almost all of their songs are my favorite but if I had to choose one it would be "Chelsea". The song Chelsea is a beautiful song and I believe it has a personal meaning to the band. They have never sang it at any concerts but I think they should. That song is so beautiful and it would be awesome to hear them sing it live.

They are on tour and will soon be coming to costa mesa. They will be performing near the OC fair in july.
This band is my favorite because the music they play is the kind of music I enjoy to listen to and I can relate to most of the songs they sing. The songs really get to me unlike any other and so thats why I really like them. They are a very good band and they are good singers. I think their music is great and very nice.They also have their own website where they have their bio tours and other things of their band.

Assignment #26 Critical Film Review (The Great Gatsby)

The Great Gatsby is a story being told by a young man. Its based on a book. I think it was a really good movie, it was beautiful. 

The typed story used for this movie was perfectly chosen. It was a great mixture of love, suspense and betrayal. The love story was very heart touching and beautiful because of the way the man was very in love with the lady and would do anything to be with her. He truly showed how she would get him shy and just how he was head over heals for her. 

Based on the timeline used the scenery used was excellently picked. The year takes place in New York during the summer of 1922. The way they incorporated the style and the way of living during that time was perfectly shown in the movie. They dressed their actors appropriately relating to the time and the way of living as well. They had chosen a specific song for plenty of the scenes and it was perfectly placed. The song was put right on time. It is a love song that specifically made for the movie and they new just the right moment to put it in order to bring more meaning to the scene. 

The actors chosen for the main characters were also chosen right. The actors acted really good for the type of role they got. They were serious and when it came to the sentimental parts they truly new how to express it. The way the actors look also went with the type of character they were meant to be. For example Leonardo DiCaprio has the perfect look for the serious role and he also new how to show his sentimental side without making it seem fake. 

All through out, the movie was very good. They kept the story realistic with no unreal ending and easy to understand. I would recommend people to go watch it weather with a friend, alone, or their special someone. It is heart warming to anyone and also includes some interesting suspense. I give this movie a thumbs up for such great work. 

Assignment #19 Being Charitable

The Project Ultrasound charity is a charity in which they raise money to help get local clinics ultrasound machines to save lives. The founders of this charity have come to notice that 70-90% of abortion-minded women choose to keep their babies after getting an ultrasound.
I chose this charity because it has a personal meaning to me. It is true that most women can change their minds by looking at a simple ultrasound picture of their unborn child. I can say this because my mother has gone through this. When she was younger she got pregnant and was told that the baby had a defect. Where she is from the clinics weren't as advanced as they are now. She was unable to see what her baby was like to even know whether she was being lied to or not. My mom went through this three times. Both times she felt she had no other choice but to get an abortion of who could have been my older sister and brother. She never got to see them and till this day it kills her. The third time they told her that the same situation occurred she decided to keep the child; and so today 16 years later here I am.
I think it would be great for more clinics to have ultrasound machines to get to see their children before they take their innocent lives from them. If it is capable of showing future mothers that they are caring inside of them I believe that they will change their minds. I want to help give people a second thought of what they are doing before its to late. I want them to see what they are giving up because not everyone gets a chance to do so.Please help the anti-abortion charity and help save a life by letting the future mothers open their eyes.

Assignment #15-My Dream Job

I wasn't always sure what career I wanted to per sue in. At first I wanted to be a teacher but then I wanted to a high school counselor and in the end I told myself  I would be a psychologist. As days go by I learn more of different careers and would work well with me. I am a true artist, all I enjoy doing is art , but unfortunately it isn't aways getting a stable job that way.

Aside from being an artist I have recently come to notice that I enjoy helping people. I enjoy helping people but I also enjoy time to myself. I'm no exactly sure yet if I have a dream job but I do have an idea of what I would like to do. 

I have decided to be an ultra sound technician. I'm pretty sure that this career choice is right for me and that I will enjoy working in this a lot. I still sometimes think of just being a physiologist but yet again I have my doubts. 

For now I don't think I have dream job but I do have an idea of what I would enjoy doing and that is to become an ultra sound technician. I would enjoy doing this because I would like to help people find out what there is inside them, whether it's finding out if you are having a baby boy or a baby girl or even if you might have some sort of tumor that needs to be checked in order to keep it from getting worse. An ultra sound technician works on helping people get a visual sight of what is inside them. It can help save a life by finding out if there is something dangerous inside them before its to late. Working on this doesn't always have bad news. When working in this career it can also give a chance to let an expecting mother find out what she has been caring in her tummy for 5 months. 

I would really enjoy this job because I want to help people know and help them find out what they have inside them where they can't see on their own.

Assignment #17- Stranded

If I could have only three things while being in a deserted island I would have food(including water) , blankets, and my drawing book. I think those three things are pretty good things to take. They would help with the main important things are needed at a daily life.
I would take food(including water) because food is important to have around and water is very important to have in order to stay alive. I would take blankets to keep me warm during the night. Keeping warm is also important because if I stay cold for to long I could get sick.
Finally I would take my drawing book. I would take that because if im going to be stranded, there wouldn't be many things to do. I would eventually get bored but if i had my drawing book I would have something to do.
